Cat's Cradle

In retrospect, looking back at my work, I feel like I accomplished a lot. I think that this project is a great way to challenge an individual. Moreover, this assignment was not all boring, many times I found myself entertained. The best example would be the creative section. Creating this website was a great learning experience and worked very well for me. In addition, writing the song was enjoyable for a couple of reasons. It was nostalgic listening to the song, grammar did not necessarily matter, and the song as a whole was ridiculous (in a good way). 

 

The serious parts of the project; for example, the literary elements as well as, evaluation and context of the text gave me a deeper understanding of the book. They emphasized things which are not noticeable by just reading the book. The literary elements and the evaluation of context were a challenge to me. It was hard for me to express what I want to say, and I did not know how to start. In the end, however, I do feel that I successfully completed it (working over 50 hours on this project).

 

Moreover, Kurt Vonnegut's biography was very interesting. I was not able to relate to the author, but I understood where he was coming from. Through his novels, Vonnegut expresses his feelings about the aspects of life; for instance, science and religion. 

 

This project is a great learning experience for all students, but I would suggest one improvement. Unless I was unlucky, I felt that most of the book choices were historical in some way or another. Personally, I dislike history, and I would prefer to read a novel that is entirely fiction. Nevertheless, Cat's Cradle was an enjoyable book composed of mostly fiction, such as ice-nine destroying the world. Finally, this project influenced me to create a website as well as outlines. If I have another important project that needs creativity, I will most likely create my own website. In addition if I have an assignment with many parts to it I will write up outlines. This will help organize my work and my assignment will hopefully become a better product in the end.

 

If I would do it all over again I would not change much, since I am happy with my product. The only thing I would really change is the order in which I proceeded with this project. Instead of writing it on the website and then moving to Microsoft Word to check the grammar, I would do it in reverse.  It would have been more efficient to do my work with Microsoft Word because it checks my work's spelling and punctuation.
